My husband and I often come for a walk here with the dog and then have a drink, its always very pleasant.

Have just come back from the George at Abbots Leigh, very disappointed with the Early bird menu. One of the starters' was Potted Pork, this was 5 strips of pulled pork in a awful lot of grease. The 'Tart of the Day' was described as Red Onion and Fennel with small roasted potatoes but when it came the overriding ingredient was butternut squash, there were no roasted small potatoes but a new potato salad in a pink mayonnaise. When challenge about this the waitress just said she 'got it wrong' Will not be repeating the experience!

Thank you for visiting The George Inn recently, sorry the experience did not live up to your expectations. We are a new business, having only been open a couple of weeks. We have employed as many staff from the surrounding area as possible and yes some of them do not have a lot of experience. We always try to give local people jobs though as we feel this works best for both us and them. Although training was given before opening the best way to learn in this trade is 'on the job'. We hope our customers can be understanding of this as we encourage our new staff to learn and improve!

Very sorry to hear you did not have a good experience at The George Inn recently. I can only apologise that the food did not meet your expectations. The vegetarian tart is made fresh every day and one of our best sellers and the chips are definitely always triple cooked but obviously not up to scratch on this occasion. As a new business we are striving to ensure every customer has a great experience and it is very disappointing to hear you did not. Whilst staff and processes are all new we hope our customers can be understanding as we do our best to establish the business.

Stopped off here on our way to see friends. It was a beautiful summers evening and we expected a 'typical' welcoming village pub with garden. Full points for the Garden and interior, however this was completely diminished by the immature, unprofessional and impersonal young girls behind the bar. They would have been more suited to a Wetherspoons - and not a good one at that. Very disappointing and completely unexpected. Even though we were peckish did not try the food. Quite a shame really as you can see the owners have put their heart and soul into the aesthetics.

We went here tonight, lovely sunny evening - Saturday 6 July. Lovely garden and impressed with the refurbished pub. However, we ordered our meal at just after 8pm and it arrived just before 9pm (too long, as the place was hardly full). I ordered the vegetarian tart with mixed leaves and ordered the three times fired chips as a side. The vegetarian tart was awful (salty and just like a soggy quiche) salad leave OK, But who can go wrong with this. They did not bring the side order until I went to the bar to ask. When the fries arrived they were not thrice fried chips, but just heated up chips that I could not even bring myself to eat. Overall, I would not recommend this pub for food. It would not be overpriced if the food were delicious but poor quality that did not reflect the price charged. We will not go here for good again.
