The Beijing Restaurant reviews

Probably 'the' best Chinese in NI Take my family all the time Great value for money Family friendly and food is delicious. Highly recommend the salted prawns and sweet chilli chicken but I've had loads of great dishes. In fact, I'm just heading there now for Father's Day.

genuinely couldn't find fault with this place! 5 course meal, all generous portions, all absolutely delicious for 20 quid! Waiting time for food was a little longer than average, about 20-25 minutes depending on the dish, but oh boy was it worth it.

Food is incredible, excellent portions, easily the best Chinese restaurant in Lisburn. The whole menu is very tasty, but my favourite is the Salted Chili Chicken with fried rice and a wee portion of curry. The staff are also very nice and the service is very fast and friendly.

The Beijing only opened a few years ago, as a sister restaurant to the Water Margin in Holywood. Both have large plate-glass windows, the latter overlooking Belfast Lough, while the former overlooks Tesco's (which is a mixed blessing). We have been back to the Beijing quite a few times in the last year, since the new management took over. Prior to that, I found the service too formal and the food unremarkable for the price. Now, however, the atmosphere has been transformed by the new manageress and staff. Parking shouldn't be a problem, as there are free spaces near the door and the Tesco car park across the road. The restaurant is on the first floor, but there's an elevator as well as stairs. The interior is bright, spacious and modern: there's the mandatory fish tank, of course. Food is as good as any other Chinese (their hot & sour soup is one of those that takes your breath away). I don't know where they source their ingredients, but the staff are regularly seen nipping across to Tesco....
