We used to go to this pub a few years back, its was a nice friendly place to have a meal We went in last sunday for a family meal at about 530pm, we was asked for our drinks order, which was taken, we was then asked for our meal order, the starters where actually nice, the main meal was cold, hard chips and out of the five of us none of us finished the plate, we asked for the bill, which amounted to 75 pound, and we also asked to speak to the manager, he came with a sacastic attiude, as though we was trying to get out of paying, bearing in mind we had already handed him the money, he argued with my daughter, and my husband, he is an absolute disgrace, and we will not enter that place again, he wouldnt know how to run a public toilet let alone work with the general public who is eating from him

Had never been before but my husband and I decided to give it a try using our Tesco Clubcard Vouchers. Made it known as soon as we arrived that we would be using them so was half expecting the meal/service to be somewhat under par. How wrong were we !! Meal was absolutely lovely with the same size portions we have had in any other establishment. Staff were very friendly and the service was excellent. We only actually had to pay for our round of drinks (so a cheap dinner out for us) but were treated no differently to any of the other patrons. Will definitely try again.

I believe this establishment is about to undergo a face-lift under new management. This being the case, will give it a try.

Don't bother. A waste of time . Its miles out out of the way and not even worth looking at the map to find it.

Called there today (Sunday 20 Jan 2013) Steak & kid not home made as stated, frozen chips. A lady sent here fish back - said not cooked!! Carvery seemed popular with OAP's Would not go there again waste of money.

Don't bother. Two Wedding Anniversaries running we have been here as it is in walking distance. The first year we were turned away at 8pm as they had had a busy day so decided to shut the kitchen. This year we booked to avoid this problem. When we arrived there was a sign on the door saying no food after 3.30pm. We were shown to our table but were the only ones there. Having seen people pull up in the car park and leave 5 minutes later, I explained to the waitress that the sign was putting people off. She said the kitchen was closed due to a busy lunch shift and the chef being off sick. They were only serving us because they had not been able to phone us to cancel. The food did not make up for the lack of atmosphere. My rare steak was overdone and the peppercorn sauce was like milk. The garlic bread was raw and greasy. The desserts were great as they were obviously bought in and only needed to be defrosted and served. Finally, the accessible toilet has no lock but don't worry the lovely staff will hold it shut for you. Well they had nothing else to do!
