Dr Brightons information

Dr Brighton's is a traditional style pub in an old atmospheric building literally the oldest pub on Brighton's Seafront. Serving an impressive selection of drinks.

"Doctor Brighton’s is the City's most treasured secret. A mixed Pub that is
pretty much an institution in itself. Its one of the oldest seafront Pub’s in
Brighton and has probably one of the best locations out of them all.

With a Pool table and Quiz machine on hand to keep the team spirit going.

There are daily newspapers and magazines for you to read so you can watch
the day go by, with gorgeous classy cocktail’s while your sitting on the
comfy sofa’s looking out to sea.

In the summertime your better off outside,
there is an excellent enclosed area to sit back and enjoy the sea views and
watch the world go by, but remember to get here early to grab the best
available seats.
It has for many years become very popular as a  pre-club
bar at the weekend’s with a great selection of  Resident DJ’s Playing to the Crowds on a Friday and Saturday night til late and also on Bank Holiday
sundays.

The staff are extremely friendly, laid back and always around to help you have a good time.

Whether you are on your own or in a group or party the atmosphere will change accordingly, we can cater for all your needs.
We have our own DJ facilities and
dancing area, we can supply DJ's if need be.

Unfortunately we do not have a pub kitchen but outside
caterers are available locally. If you require any special decorations,
this can be arranged also.

Located in central Brighton there are many restaurants, shops and large
hotels only footsteps away, with the views of the English Chanel directly opposite.

This longstanding gay pub is set just back from the seafront and is handy for drinks before moving on to the nearby clubs.

The Venue
Okay, this is possibly the worst named pub in Brighton, but at least it has no pretensions (and to be fair a Dr Brighton did actually exist). Dr Brightons benefits from its two entrances, one on the seafront and one on The Lanes side and it is simply decorated with a scuffed dark wooden floor, two pool tables and a piano.

It's a gay bar but because of its location attracts a mixed crowd and is particularly popular with clubbing types. There are DJs on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights and Bank Holidays are always memorable events here.

The People
Proudly flying the rainbow flag, Dr Brightons proves that a bar doesn't have to have fancy decor to attract an up for it crowd. Party lovers trail in and out of the door all night long, catching up with friends before moving on to a club. DJs keep everyone dancing at weekends whilst during the week small groups chat and flirt over a game of pool.

The Drink
Drinks on draught include Stowford Press, Guinness, Staropramen, Grolsch, Kronenbourg and San Miguel, as well as guest ales and ciders. The bar is well stocked with over 300 bottles of spirits- try and work your way through that lot. Cocktails cost from £5.00-£7.00 and there is a range of different takes on a Bloody Mary so you can mix and match your hair of the dog according to the strength of your hangover.

The Last Word
Dr Brightons is popular with the gay, mixed and clubbing crowd and gets packed out on a Friday and Saturday night so be prepared to lose all concept of personal space.
