Sabai Thai Gastrobar reviews

By Anna A.

I went to Sabai Thai with my family a couple of weeks ago and I thought it was lovely and the food was the nicest I've had for a long time.

Great value for money. The best chicken satay starter I have ever had. Quality main courses. Wine lovely. We are definately going back. SOON I HOPE...

Hi. I am the business owner and I am sorry to hear that your beef dish was too salty. Our chefs are Thai and taste every dish before it goes out to the customer. If it was too salty we would have replaced the dish if you asked. We get told we have the best Thai food people have tried outside of Thailand. You say that your starter and green curry was very nice so I find it hard to understand how you say we have spent more effort on the building than the food. Please take the time to read some other reviews to see that this is not the case. I hope you reconsider not wanting to come back.

The place looks fantastic and the staff are very friendly. Our starters were very nice and the green curry was good too. Unfortunately the beef dish we also ordered was very salty. It seems they have spent more effort on the building than the food. Not a bad experience but probably won't go back.

Went here on bank holidya Sunday evening with my girlfriend and were initially surprised that this was a restaurant and not a gastrobar.

We had been informed that there was going to be a live acoustic band but were told on arrival that they had cancelled.

However, the primary concern was the food, atmosphere and service which was second to none.

This is one of the best Thai meals I have had and at £15 per head ish with a drink this is outstanding value for money.

Very welcoming, good servcie, clean and good choice of food.

Definately going back there.

I went to Sabai for lunch with two friends and got the lunch set menu.

The food was lovely and the atmosphere was great, you can choose to either sit at a table on chairs or on the roll-mat like mattresses that are everywhere in Thailand, we chose the latter.

The bill was reasonable, it would be cheap if you got the set menu but the chances are the money you save on food you will spend on Tiger beer.

Definitely recommend a visit.
