By Ben I.

I went to Browns for my friend's 18th Birthday meal with his family, there was around 12 of us. We arrives at around 4:50pm for our reservation at 5pm, we were seated a bit late at around 5:10pm but waited happily at the bar area where we had a drink. For my dinner I ordered Cod and Chips, which arrived after 20 minutes or so. It was a fair sized piece of fish and a decent amount of chips with small bowl of freshly made tartar sauce which contained either chunks of gherkin or capers - it was delicious, like the whole meal. It was a bit expensive compared to other restaurants but well worth it! 100% would go again.

We waited for over an hour for one of the most disgusting and shoddily prepared and presented meals I've ever had. I ordered 'roast poussin with a tomato and cumin sauce served with mash' - I had greasy chicken with a foul 1970's curry powder sauce poured over it, served on instant smash. My co-diner ordered 'roast butternut squash with mushroom fricasse and salad'- She got 1/4 butternut squash dumped on a plate with fried mushrooms thrown on top and served with a brown, wilted salad that must have been scraped out of the bottom of the fridge. My advice - enjoy a cocktail here, but whatever you do, don't order the food.
