The Ship Inn reviews

Having to travel up from the south east to attend a wedding, it was fabulous to find out we could book a room at the reception venue. We stayed two nights in an extremely comfortable room, with a more than adequate continental style breakfast supplied in the room, along with the usual beverages. We had an enjoyable meal in the pub on the friday evening,my husband had the Haddock and chips while I had the Hunters Chicken, delicious. The marquee in the grounds was perfect for a reception, the staff looked after all the guests superbly. The food was fantastic. I can honestly give top marks.

Went to The Ship Inn on Bank Holiday monday after we had been to the garden centre at Dunswell. It's a lovely pub and the young girl who was on the bar was very professional but also very apologetic as there were only her serving and one cooking. (a Bank Holiday Monday!). I was there with my husband and 4 friends, we ordered a lunch and had to wait for more than an hour, which was not good. It was very nice when it finally arrived but we would think twice of calling there again because of that. I can't praise the young barmaid enough though but I wonder how many other people who just happened to call in for lunch have been put off by this. The pub itself is a lovely place.

Went to the ship inn with my wife for fish and chips on a friday lunch. The portions were quite large and of excellent quality. The staff were very professional and courteous. The meal came quickly and beer was good. There were 2 fires burning logs and the pub was quite homely. I would recommend a visit by anyone and they won't be disappointed
