I've been using Maharajah since 1998, and the food is always excellent. My particular favourite is the Lamb Tikka Karai, and never once in all of this time have I had a tuff or fatty piece of meat, and the Tikka Marinade has to be tasted. Hamid, his son and excellent team are always keen to do whatever they can to make any visit or takeaway one to remember, they will adapt any dish to your liking. Admitedly, I have had to wait an hour in the past for my delivery, but this will be on a Friday or Saturday when it is to be expected, when they will be at full capacity. This restaurant is so good, that when I got married, I approached them to have my wedding reception there as I was only inviting 50 guests, and they made our wedding day even more special than we could have imagined, they went all out to provide everything we needed, and more, and it was much better value than going to your usual wedding venue and having a boring roast dinner, the food was amazing, 5 stars isn't enough for this place, it deserves 10, it is highly underated, and if you've never been, you must go, highly recommended. I have been eating take-ways from Maharajah Restaurant weekly/bi-weekly for over six years. The food is always spot-on though delivery times are often 75+ mins on weekends. This is understanable as it is by far the busiest and most popular curry house in Hull (my friend used to deliver for them and they then delivered to 150+ addresses some days) and has a reputation for unrivalled excellence (at least in east Hull where I have lived for 53 years). Collection times are at least twice as quick and anyway I much prefer to collect myself when they occasionally tell me that I may have to wait 90 mins for a delivery! Upon suggestion by delightful member of staff (possibly owners's son) when placing my order recently, i decided to take my partner for a meal to the resataurant. Wow! Marvelous atmosphere, first-class and friendly serivice, even tastier curries than take-away ones and the best part.. £30 for starters, main and bottle of wine! Astonishing in this day and age where us are consumers are regularly ripped off left, right and centre. Ok it may not be in a posh part of Hull buy you don't exactly have to eat on the street do you? Please visit this gem and decide for yourself. I recommend this venue to all food lovers- particularly those fond of a traditional curry.

I have been using Maharajah ever since I discovered my love for curries over 10 years ago.

The food is always spot on and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Takeaway and delivery times are also good but I much prefer the delightful surroundings in the restaurant itself.

There are many modern alternatives in Hull but I gurantee there are none tastier and better value than Maharjah.

Worst takeaway service I have ever ordered from ever and the manager was so rude when I spoke to him he started shouting at me straight away and tried to clam he's well known for being nice what a joke he is and the restaurant! After trying to tell him I work in a pub and restaurant to be told it would be stupid to refund me and waiting nearly 3 hours for food just put the final nail in the coffin I understand they was busy but they need to realise that waiting 3 hours for a curry was pathetic I've never know such bad customer service they should be ashamed!

Poor first use of this restaurants delivery service. Almost two hours when told 45 minutes and items missing off delivery. Poor atitude when I rang and did not offer any solution other then to wait another forty minutes for the missing food. I will not use this place again.

Had to wait over an 1hr and 45mins for our food to be delivered. And you guessed, it was stone cold!! Yes I could of heated it up but I shouldn't have too. I shouldn't pay £15 to warm up food. I could go to the local supermarket and pay a quarter of the price if I wanted to do that. 5 stars? I don't think so... Wont be ordering from here again. Majorly disappointed :(
