Not going back to Manor Farm for a Meal

I took my family for treat to Manor Farm yesterday and was appalled at the hostility and obnoxious staff.
One poor girl was running round giving food out while one just stood talking to a man for ages. The old lady behind the bar was struggling to cope and not very helpful, even getting table numbers muddled up.
The meal came to £45 so not cheap but luckily that included drinks.
On ordering the food the young girl had such a bad attitude when serving me, with the faces she was pulling my daughter came over to see what the problem was.
After we finished our meal, we asked the old lady if the children could have their ice creams now, the response was, I am on my own and can leave the bar, someone will be over shortly - 20 minutes later we asked the girl who was clearing tables about the ice cream and she had no idea we were waiting for them.
Luckily ice cream arrives.
On this occasion I think it's a good job that nobody asked if we enjoyed our meals, because we were not impressed.
Our visit was 11.45 on Wednesday 21st December.

Cold Food not Good

This is our local pub for meals we have been coming here for twenty plus years and the meals for the last few weeks have been terrible. Last week my Husband ordered The Chicken & Steak sizzler (but didn't sizzle ) and My scampi and chips was cold. This week we thought we would give them another chance but everything was cold except My scampi, and the thing is the pub was just about empty we counted 5 tables occupied For a Saturday night. When the pub is full your meals come out quicker and hotter.
Where is the Landlady?

Went for a fathers day meal. The place was very busy as you can imagine. We were patient and were happy to wait for a table as we did not book. The starters were very nice, however the main courses were a joke. My wife's curry was cold, the steaks were over cooked and one meal was more than 15 minutes later than everyone else's. The inexperienced young waitress was apologetic however the same thing happened for our desserts when a cup of tea was missed off our order. After asking 3 people where this was it was still not brought. After all desserts were finished we complained to the duty manager who wasn't very apologetic and handed us a refund with nothing more than a forced smile. Average food, appalling service. Will not return.

Visited last night for stew and dumps and 1 st meal sent back cold and next meal 15 mins later hot but of a very poor quality with 5 small bits of meat overall really poor value for 9 quid. Pub needs to do a lot better before our party goes back.

Visited pub on 3 dec 2011 always driven past and seen the car park full so assumed it was good ! Party of 7 ordered food and drinks the pub was not too busy and 5 meals came out after about 20 minutes two meals had not got the full complement of side orders with them and another had a whole portion missing (the 3 pork platter only had the gammon and pork steak the belly pork was missing) asked the waitress for the correct dishes which she eventually brought to us and asked about the remaining two dishes to which she replied the kitchen were waiting for chips .The two meals arrived some 10 minutes later with cold chips and tough steaks obvoiusly left under a heat lamp or oven waiting for chips . Such a shame as the pub does look nice but will not be going back for seconds .

My boyfriend and I visited this pub earlier this month and were absolutely appalled by the the rude and arrogant customer service from one of the bar staff. We were sat outside and had finished our first round of drinks, so my boyfriend went inside to the bar and asked for a pint of guinness and a dry white wine and soda. Upon his return I noticed that I'd been given Chardonnay instead of Pinot Grigio. I understand that some pubs do class Chardonnay as a 'dry' white wine but not once since I've been visiting this pub (18 months) have I been given Chardonnay. It's a question of personal taste and this wine is just too fruity, oaky and heavy for my palate. Anyway my boyfriend went back into the pub to change the wine for me, to which the bar person refused and said he got the drink he asked for. We found his attitude shocking and when he came outside to collect empty glasses, this individual was very confrontational and rude. This person seriously needs to go on a customer service skills training course asap! My boyfriend also had a word with the assistant manger about the dreadful customer service and clearly this person wasn't in the best frame of mind either and was quite flippant. I am a registered mystery shopper and have completed many assignments for pubs/restaurants in the area, all I can say is that it's a good job that I wasn't mystery shopping Manor Farm on that particular evening! This is our local pub and in the past we've visited for either meals and/or drinks have always found the staff pleasant and courteous. Hopefully this is a 'one off' but it really spoilt the rest of our evening.

Absolutely dreadful. Very poor customer service. Steak arrived with a triangle chunk missing from it looking as if some one had eaten a piece from it. When I complained I was told that's how they came a Manor Farm! The chilli and rice was a ridiculously small portion. It was like the story of three bears for us, I think Goldilocks must be hanging out in their kitchen! Will not return.

went there last saturday night a family meal out 10 all in all.disgusted about attitude of a member off staff ie supervisor.my son is 4yrs off age and i was refused to purchase small plate fish and chips for my son from the main menu.the menu states great for kids and for people with a smaller appetite.i was told i would have too order a kids meal on the other menu because my son was not 5yrs of age, which i kept getting of this supervisor was company policy.the policy stinks and so do the staff.would not recomend this place to my worst enemy.it was a total embarrasment and the so called supervisor should be ashamed of herself and position.so beaware these parents who have got small children you might be asked your childs age before you can order any thing for your hungry little ones

Fabulous pub with great food and lovely beer. Been in lots of times now and will gladly return. The 2 for 1 food offer is excellent and they certainly don't skimp on portion sizes. A very well turned out and extremely smart looking pub too.

Visited the pub on Sunday 12 July as a party of 11. We actually chose and paid for 12 meals with it being a buy one get one free pub, thinking we could all just share the 12th meal.

We did not realise this was not allowed, a genuine mistake anyone could make.We ate 11 meals but had actually paid for a 12th meal which was more expensive so with not being allowed to eat it we requested the refund of 3 pounds to be told by staff we were abusive and had not right to question their rules!

We were told in no uncertain terms we would not be served desserts when we asked for desserts in order to get back the overpaid amount.

Lovely pub with good food but lousy customer service and we will not returning again, they have lost a customer base of 11 local people and we will not be recommending friends to go.
