Dipali Restaurant reviews

By Gavin H.

Totally disagree with Mr and Mrs Spencer. I have eaten at many eating establishments, and if I was to go for an indian Dipali is aways first on the list. A warm welcome awaits you as you walk through the door, staff are always attentive, but not over bearing. Food is prompt, but not to quick that makes you think its all been microwaved!, beer is replenished at a frequent rate, I have never had reason to complain. Gavin Human. Walkers Estate Agents blaby

I would also like to say that you should not be put off by the bad review. I visit Dipali 3-4 times every month and the food is absolutely delicious every time.

We have been customers for more than 3 years now and have never had any problems whatsoever.

the service is always friendly and incredibly prompt. On occasion we go into Leicester city centre to try different curry houses but always end up comparing them to Dipali, and they are never quite as good!

The previous reviewer must have been very unlucky. We visit Dipali regularly and this has never been our experience. The service is attentive and the food very good. I have two asian friends who rave about the place and I don't think you can get better recommendation than that. Other friends travel 10 miles to eat there. Don't let the previous review stop you trying it!

Avoid at all costs, we like to support local business trading from and living in blaby for near 12 years, but this curry house is by far the worst I have visited in many years (nationwide!) and I eat out a lot. The starter was burnt, the naan was cold, the saag dish simply had spinach thrown in as an afterthought and the chicken wasn't marinated as per the menu stated, it was like a Chicken Tonight meat in sauce dish - bland, tasteless, watery and just plain wrong!

At no stage did anyone ask how our meal was although the place was quiet. At no stage were we asked if we would like a sweet or even another drink after the first. We sat with empty glasses and eventually got the bill and left as my wife at 6 months pregnant really was not in the mood for me to kick up a fuss, so I obeyed orders and let them get away with robbing me of 35 quid for a shocking meal - we left over half and still they just collected the plates without a word. Surely it's just manners to enquire if all's well or if there was a problem if you see someone has left so much?

I just don't understand how they can care so little in such harsh trading times as it's never that busy. Mr and Mrs Spencer, Blaby.
