Disappointing table service
I am afraid, and unfortunately, cannot share the same favourable comments about our eating experience at The Cholmeley Arms. We booked for Sunday lunch, for 6 people, for 2.30 pm sitting, having extolled the eating experience with some relatives who were visiting us for the weekend, and wanted to share the experience with them.
We sat down at 2.30 pm, the main course arriving soon afterwards. The food was excellent. We finished the main course around 3.30 pm, but then waited until 4.15 pm for the plates to be cleared away. The pudding menu arrived at 4.30 pm, but by 4.55 pm our puddings had not arrived (nearly 1. 5 hours after finishing our main course), at which juncture we decided to settle the bill, minus the puddings, and leave.
All 6 of us are sure the puddings would have been as delicious as the main course, but, what can only be described, as poor service seriously detracted from the afternoon. A very disappointing experience, and one we would not wish to repeat.
