See films for free at the National Theatre this summer.

See some outdoor films for free courtesy of the National Theatre. As part of their Watch This Space festival's series of free alfresco performances, the National Theatre will be broadcasting films onto their Flytower. Free films Catch free films as the National Theatre screens a selection of movies onto their Flytower – that big square building off to the side of the theatre. Films due to be screened include Mel Brooks' 1968 musical comedy The Producers, starring Zero Mostel, Gene Wilder and Christopher Hewett, as well as Powell and Pressburger's iconic 1948 film The Red Shoes, starring Moira Shearer as a young woman torn between love and her art. In addition to the feature films, the programme also includes a short work by the Freewheelers Theatre Company, Steep Rain, which explores the themes of visibility and invisibility. Outdoor theatre performances are also planned, so pull up a patch of Astroturf and get a dose of culture in the sun.
