The second DANO Korea festival at Trafalgar Square will give you a fascinating insight into the culture and customs of Korea with live performances by Korean artists, crafts and music workshops, Korean food and a parade. The event celebrates Seoul Day and the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the South Korean government with plenty of very special events that will be enjoyed by all. Dano falls on the 5th May in the lunar calendar and in Korea is marked by an early summer fete. Korean people believed that Dano was the day with the strongest Yang elements, and it is the custom to present friends and families with fans that are decorated with suns to prepare for the long humid summer. In a mix of old and new traditions the Korean festival at Trafalgar Square will feature performances from Korean musicians and dancers, with traditional rhythms mixing with contemporary culture in a fantastic celebratory fusion. With crafts, foods, dance, music and a colourful parade, the Korean festival at Trafalgar Square is set to be a fabulous day of cultural celebration that will no doubt become a staple in the cultural calendar of London.
