Soak up some history and culture at the LGBT Soho walking tours.

Soak up some history and culture at the LGBT Soho walking tours. Organised by Kairos in Soho, these tours take place on selected Sundays throughout the year and aim to bring the vibrant lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender legacy of this part of London to life. LGBT Soho walking tours Starting outside the Admiral Duncan pub on Old Compton Street, the LGBT Soho walking tours explore the contributions that previous Soho residents have made to gay culture, LGBT rights, and the wider community. The tour guides take pride in uncovering aspects of LGBT history that are often neglected, so expect to learn more about black, Asian and minority ethnic LGBT history, as well as trans history. Tour highlights With a team of volunteers contributing to the LBGT Soho walking tours, which have been taking place for over 10 years, you are bound to get plenty of expert historical knowledge when you take a guided walk. The lives of well known figures such as Josephine Baker and Oscar Wilde will be explored and their connections to Soho explained, and you can expect to find out more about less famous but just as interesting people as well. The LGBT Soho walking tours are from 2pm - 4pm on the every third Sunday of the month throughout the year. Tickets are £5.00. There is no need to book in advance for the next event, which takes place as part of LGBT History Month.
