The year is 1989 and tensions are high between east and west in Berlin. KGB agent Yuri Bakhtin shoots dead MI6 agent James Gascoigne on the snow-laden streets of the divided German capital and steals a microfilm containing the names and locations of every active field agent. MI6 chief Eric Gray and his gruff CIA counterpart Emmett Kurzfeld pressgang elite British spy Lorraine Broughton into action to locate Bakhtin and retrieve the microfilm before agents are compromised.
