Director. Lee Unkrich

Twelve-year-old dimple-cheeked Miguel Rivera lives in the bustling Mexican village of Santa Cecilia, where his family have worked as shoemakers for generations. His grandmother Abuelita rules the roost and she strictly enforces a ban on music. Miguel secretly yearns to be a guitarist and singer like his hero, Ernesto de la Cruz. To this end, on Dia de los Muertos - the Day of the Dead - Miguel "borrows" his idol's guitar to perform at the village talent show and he is magically transported to the Land of the Dead.
