Director. Dominic Cooke
Dominic Cooke directs a live orchestra of 21 talented musicians and a cast of 37 actors for the inaugural staging of Stephen Sondheim's nostalgic musical at the National Theatre in London, which is broadcast live to cinemas around the UK and Ireland. The year is 1971 and the imperious Weismann Theatre is due to be demolished. Ageing owner Dimitri Weismann hosts one final party at the venue, welcoming back some of his cherished Follies girls 30 years after their final performance.
