Song Of Granite

Director. Pat Collins

An impressionistic biopic of Irish folk singer Joe Heaney shot in lustrous black and white. The singer promoted the traditional Gaelic sean nos style of music and this film adopts an intentionally fragmented structure to traces Heaney's life through three key periods from youth, when he immersed himself in the rich culture of County Galway, through young adulthood and then into his later years when he was consigned largely to the UK and America.
