Very impressed! Great location, friendly staff and a good choice of food and drink.
I visited The Commodore for the first time last week whilst visiting family that live in the area and I was very impressed. They have plenty of seating and tables, a good selection of beers and ales, a nice open fireplace and a great outdoor terrace overlooking the Loch. We had a few drinks in the bar before being shown to our table in the restaurant. The food menu is pretty big, with plenty of choice and there are some good set-menu deals (although your choice is limited to only a few of the dishes). I was surprised to see a lobster and king-prawn starter for under £6 and a Wagyu Beef burger for £12.50 - so that's what I ordered! The starter was great, but the burger was a bit disappointing. It was overcooked and a bit dry (it's not expensive food though so I can't complain too much) but I just wish I ordered one of the stonebaked pizzas instead. My girlfriend had the chicken and mushroom pizza and it was delicious! We didn't have time (or room) for pudding but the choice looked good to me, and I look forward to coming back and trying them in the future. The staff were great too, with a special mention to the manager, Jeff who made sure the family were well looked after. All-in-all I would definitely recommend The Commodore, especially for a family or group meal.
