What a shame. Beautiful place, great opening hours, nice bit of King's Rd but really let down by mediocre food and service. On a Thu evening not many people were dining which should have given my friend and me a clue. The waitress kept asking us every five minutes if we wanted something more so after a drink and some bar snack we made our exit. It seems that the place is trying too hard to get everyone that crosses the door to spent fifty pounds before they decide what they want to have which would be justified in Chelsea but in a more established institution with more suave service and relaxed atmosphere. This one seems to bank on the Chelsea wannabes more. On a previous occasion, Sat night as a cocktail bar it was better in service and atmosphere but the clientele seemed a bit chavy. With King's rd offering such great choice in atmosphere, kudos and prices this is very far from first choice.
Oh and the ground floor isn't members only. They could take a leaf out of the Groucho Club's book for atmosphere and service if they want to justify their prices. But they seem too desperate for a quick buck to do this.
