California Kitchens reviews

Went last night before Comic Relief at Wembley Arena. Had BBQ burger which was the most dreadful, abysmal thing I have ever been served. It appeared microwaved as it had no colour and certainly wasn't a quality beef burger. Probably the cheapest they could find at wholesaler. My partner had a Pepperoni pizza which was soggy and greasy, hardly any pepperoni but considering the quality of meat in the beefburger that probably was a good thing.. In all the places we've eaten this was truly the most awful one and I am sure it has not local or repeat business. The table next to us asked for parmesan for his pizza to which the waitress said 'the pizza already has 3 cheeses, do you really want more?'. Wine was the only good thing about his awful place. DO NOT GO THERE, really disgusting food.

My third time to wembley for an event and my third time eating at California Kitchens and so I thought they deserve a review. Every time we have been there the food, which I have had 3 different ones now, including the burgers and the amazing potato wedges have been absolutely delicious. I don't know what the other people are taking about. I had a pizza my first visit and a burger on the second and my latest last friday was the Pesto Pine nut pasta with chicken and it was truly delicious. I can honestly say better than pasta I've eaten in Italy. I just want to say that California Kitchen is an oasis and heaven sent to wembley. Thank you all for making our experience memorable every time. Btw, the service rocks. Thanks to the girls! :)

I work in Wembley and California Kitchen has been a great place to meet with co-workers for lunch. I can not fault the food at all and their new Pasta arrival (love Pink) is out of this world. My other favourite is Bird burger which I love. The place and the staff are always inviting. Thank you guys and we've given you a nick name ck. Hope that's Ok.

Went there after reading the reviews on here. It was clean enough and the service was good. Asked what was good to eat and was told the Burgers sell very well so ordered it. The Pattie was supermarket processed meat certainly not one prepared on the premises. The same with the potato wedges out of plastic bag. The Burger was terrible. The coke was out of a tap. All in all would have had a much better meal at McDonald a little bit further down the road.

I was enticed to go to California Kitchens reading the reviews on here. The place was clean enough and the service was good. Asked what was good to have and was told the burgers. The Menu certainly did not lend itself to an American restaurant as the name suggests. Ordered the Burger and I could not believe how terrible it was. It was cheap supermarket burger. Certainly the burger was not made on site the potato Wedges were again from supermarket. The cola was from tap. Overall Macdonald would have been a lot better.

I went there with a chum on the day of the cup final (which we lost sadly) and didn't expect too much as it was filled with Chelsea supporters when we first walked past (no disrespect to the Sloane Rangers). We returned and were blessed with a table, good coffee and carrot cake - having eaten that and viewed everybody else's pizza we determined to return after the game if we won which we didn't, but we did thrash them 4-1 last night so some solace there! I happily recommend this place - the bonny Californian lady (married to the chef apparently to the disappointment of my chum!) was personality and service personified - we will return there soon for a concert at Wembley and for future Cup Finals I'm sure! Pizzas are top drawer - no complaints from any of the customers we saw gorging them! Keep up the good work............... the 2 Scouses

Don't be put off by recent so-so reviews - we had good food here (Chicken & Avocado salad, Goat's cheese pizzas) this evening, served promptly by friendly and capable staff. Within a short walk of Wembley Arena, this is a useful place to know of and I would happily eat here again.

Had a reasonable chili burger(slightly cold),Waldorf salad OK crunchy, too,Margheritas were a bit unimaginative,Chocolate explosion cake tasted bland.Staff a little lacking in humour!Small portions compared to what you get in California. Was expecting a chrome Diner with juke box, looked more like a Hungarian restaurant OK but must try harder a bit overpriced for the area,a big 10 percent service charge

What a dreadful place! First of all, the staff are downright rude. Secondly, the ''old fashioned burger'' was blatantly frozen, as were the wedges (which cost me £9.50 and my partner had a burger that cost £11.50). Then we had the delight of the bill coming, with a service charge that was not displayed clearly before we ordered. So in essence, we paid £27.39 for 2 frozen burgers, frozen wedges and the shoddiest service known to man! I would not even recommend this place to my worst enemy!

In May my husband and I traveled to London to attend a conference but to also celebrate 35 years of marriage. We were staying at the Wembley Plaza and found the most delightful place to eat just down the block and across the street. One day I and a group of women enjoyed a wonderful lunch at California Kitchen so on our last night in London, my husband and I chose to have our dinner meal at California Kitchens and had the most amazing meal. The atmosphere is inviting, the food is delicious, but even more we enjoyed our time of conversation with Nicole. What a wonderful experience all around. Thank you California Kitchens for making our visit to London even more memorable.

Such a brilliant find. We live locally and have been eating at California Kitchens ever since it first opened. We love its clean and trendy atmosphere and, whenever we feel like a treat, we always opt to eat there. The staff are so welcoming and friendly - it's like home from home and we love the cosy atmosphere. There are many places to eat in Wembley, but they are mainly Indian restaurants or fried chicken takeaways, so having a restaurant that serves lovely American and Italian cuisine is truly refreshing. We chose to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary at California Kitchens with 10 friends this evening, as we knew the food and service would be firstclass. Well done and thanks for making our celebration so special. See you soon.

Mum's been to Iceland by the looks of it! We went for lunch and three of us ordered the 'Old Fashioned Burger' thinking it would be something akin to a GBK. What we got was just a processed 'frozen' burger in a bap with over fried processed wedges which were greasy all for £6.75. Very disappointed as the decor and atmosphere is good. One of the party had a salad which was good to be fair - although it cost £7.50 which for the area is excessive!

What a find! Great location overlooking Wembley Stadium, a short walk from Wembley Stadium Station, you can sit there and watch the world go by. I went with my wife to see X Factor in March 2011 and the staff were very welcoming, advisable to book. The venue has a nice feel about it, relaxed and trendy with a varied menu for both taste and affordability. Will definitely be booking again for when we next go to Wembley Arena or Wembley Stadium! Seemed by far the best option available for food in the area before or after a concert/match - nothing else looked nicer, as I said - a real find! Keep up the good work...

Recently visited the place. Impressed by the fabulous combination of colors, the design of the restaurant and friendly atmosphere, we found a large variety of choices for food and drink, well-stocked bar and decent menu. Very delicious food, at the same time quite affordable. For the price you get double size of what you get anywhere else. Friendly staff and managers… We will go again

California Kitchen is a long awaited breath of fresh air to Wembley! As a local resident it is just what we needed, a trendy but relaxed, affordable fabulous place to eat! We have been there three times in the last two months, the food is really good and the service is friendly and genuine. We really hope this place continues to be a success. It’s a long way off to getting the High Road back to how good it used to be, but let’s hope California Kitchen is the start of good things to come!

I recently visited California kitchens with friends. The decor and ambiance were fabulous - modern with comfy chairs, but more importantly the quality of the food and service was second to none. I also felt that it was very good value for money. Just like the first reviewer I had the goat's cheese pizza and agree that it was very nice. I also tasted some of my friends' dishes including the home made apple pie and found them all to be delicious with good portion sizes. I would revisit this venue again without hesitation and thoroughly recommend it - and my friends know how fussy I can be!

It was a great place to meet up, have a drink and catch up with friends. I loved the decor and the simple, but comfy, solid tables and brightly coloured, orange chairs. Very chic. Like the last reviewer said, the American waitress was very friendly, genuine and did a fantastic job looking after us all night, and boy were WE there for a long time!! We ended up helping them to close the place up!! The food was nice enough too. My friends had the quesadillas (sp.?)with chicken and cheese and for dessert, the baked on the premises, rich choc brownies which they seemed to polish off, no problem and obviously thoroughly enjoy. My other friend had a main meal which I can't recall at the moment, but which she said was equally as good. For my meal, the burger bun was made from some amazing granary bread with an unusual salmon burger wedged between it - thought it was worth a try. From some where there was a slight mint flavour which I didn't really enjoy, but it didn't put me off my food. Lastly, the potatoe wedges were crisp and all well cooked and tasty. Verdict: it's a lovely friendly place and worth a visit.

We came across California Kitchens on our day to watch the fa cup Chesea semi-final games and Oh My God! It was fantastic! My husband had the pasta and it was amazing and my aubergine/goat cheese pizza was to die for. On the down side we did have to wait for a table to free up, but it was well worth the wait. Next time I will make sure to book a table in advance. I must also mention the excellent service from the American lady.
