This used to be Abacus, and they've done some great improvements to the new venue. I had lunch here last Friday and the food was wonderful. I had the soft shell tempura crab for starters followed by the Cola cola glazed ribs, both were delicious! I did attempt to go for a dessert but was just too full. The cocktails were great too, my favourite was the coconut one with chocolate bitters, had a lovely subtle flavour. The staff deserve credit too they were really personable and friendly. We went back for the opening night in the evening and it was already rammed by about 5.30, but the service at the bar was still really swift. Unfortunately, we couldn't stay for longer and had to leave after an hour. Was sad to go as it looked like the party was just about to start! :( will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu and for a few after work drinks soon x

Not really much to shout about made even worse on exit when the doorman insisted on putting us in one of his cars touting outside the venue. Driver had no clue where he was going and was twice as dear as a black taxi. Management need to sort this kind of illegal practise as it is fleecing customers to line the doormans pocket and makes the venue seem cheap

A definite must visit... This venue has been newly refurbished and renamed (previously Abacus), so we decided to go while visiting London at the weekend. It was quite easy to get to, as it's literally 2 minutes walk from the Bank tube station. All the staff were really friendly and helpful, without exception. You can see this venue has very high standards which in my experience always cascades from the guy in charge, who in this case is Dave the General Manager. Brilliant decor, which is very trendy and adds to the excellent atmosphere. It was great to see a mixture of age groups, which isn't always the case at some venues. We enjoyed a beautifully presented meal, which was reasonably priced. The menu has an excellent choice to suit all tastes, and the chefs are clearly visible preparing your meal. I would like to mention we were asked straight away if we would like water with our meal....still, sparkling or tap. Well done The Forge, this is the first restaurant I have come across who have voluntarily offered tap water. A lovely jug of tap water with ice and tapered cucumber was delivered ..... Our starters where lovely, I had peanut chicken skewers with salad & lime yoghurt dressing, and my husband had BBQ pulled pork served with toasted walnut bread. Main courses were spiced chicken cooked on the open spit and my husband had grilled sirloin steak on the bone. We could only manage to share a strawberry and cream sundae, as we were so full!! Every bite was delicious, well done to the chefs. We did not visit the other bars inside this venue, as we were enjoying the great atmosphere and music where we were. But we will definitely visit them the next time. I enjoyed a couple of cocktails... recommended by a member of staff as quite honestly you could spend all night choosing!! Well done to all of the staff, I would highly recommend "The Forge", and will definitely be back on our next visit to London!!
