Gaucho reviews

On arrival we were seated in seats right on top of the entrance and on seats that were so low to the ground, you felt like your were seated on the GROUND. Given the fact that all of our party were over 5f 5 inches the seats were highly UNCOMFORTABLE and were unsuitable for the use of fine dining. We ask to be moved but were told that we couldn't be and even though we had booked in advance we were told that this did not count as it didn't matter that we had booked in advance. How ever after complaining to the Manager we got moved eventually to a table that had suitable seating. The fact that the waiters were showing you bits of steak on a board that we starting to stink due to the heat made it not a very nice experience and suggest that the meat be vacuum packed and refrigerated when not being shoved under customers noses (something that the management need to review). The burger that was order feel to pieces so not worth the money at all. The rest of the meals were okay but nothing to shout off the roof tops about. The staff in this restaurant (except the manager) are forgetting that they are there to serve the customer and not just to look glamorous!!!Also listening to loud house music whilst eating is not something I intend to do quickly again. Overall this restaurant needs to train their staff to be a lot more accommodating to the customer and also re-think on getting rid of the silly chairs suitable for nurseries. Overall out of 10 a 4 and that's being GENEROUS!!!!!!

? do not need a steak knife? There wasn't even 1 on the table! Table of 15 I might add. After some reservational hazards (ping ponging back and forth by email and phone), the group was seated in a separate room on Friday night. The larger part of the group came late, but this was dealt with in a flexible manner. It took some time before the meat -and I'm not really sure why exactly they do this for a group- was presented raw on a platter. Then it took way more time than expected for the cooked food to arrive. I'm not a big protein fan, but I LOVED the fish. I've heard the portions of the meat (100gr) were too small, which to me means the meat was too good for its portion. The pieces I tasted were! Was not a great fan of the tomato salad (which was devoured by the others) but I loved the humatis (forgot to take home their leftovers)! The different deserts were a hit: not enough, again. The place is beautiful, fabulous view after dark, food is good, service was good. I’d book it for a group again…

We have been to Gaucho Tower Bridge 4 times now, including yesterday evening and it's become a firm favorite for us.

On two ocassions we have taken friends who enjoyed it as much as we did. The service is the best I have come across in the UK, from the minute you arrive to the minute you leave.

The staff are friendly and helpful and the ambience in the restaurant is fabulous, not stuffy and really comfortable and the decor is great!.

The food, although pricey is worth every penny; from the bread to the dessert, everything is prepared to perfection and the steaks are to die for - believe me, you do NOT need a steak knife!

Thank you to the manager, chef and staff for another great dining experience.
