La Pasta Restaurant reviews

By David C.

Myself and my girlfriend, were recommended about La Pasta a number of times but never seemed to get around to it. I very much regret this as we were totally blown away. We started with a bruschetta and prawns in parmigiana and a sweet chili dip. I have never had a starter that has tasted so robust and busting with different flavors. We then moved on to mains which were Tortellini primavera (Italian ham and peas in a creamy sauce of Mediterranean herbs) and Pollo D'Avalo nicknamed the devil's chicken. This is very spicy and came with a tomato and chili infused pasta. Didn't have time for desserts but the table behind us sure seemed to be enjoying their's. The atmosphere is very relaxed and homely and the service really does make you feel special. If your looking for an authentic, traditional Italian restaurant i couldn't think of a better place. I've just booked another table in a week for myself, my girlfriends and both our parents, i hope the food finally gets them talking :) David Cross

My family have been here often...the food is good but on our recent visit it was clear that the standard of service has really declined. Another reviewer has mentioned the surly waiter...I suspect the same guy we had. Rude to the point of offending my cheerful grandma and ignored us so long waiting for our desert we left for cakes elsewhere, even though the restaurant was less than half full! Mr waiter we have all had jobs we hate...please please either cheer up or find a new one you like! You`re letting down the efforts of the others in what is usually a really pleasant lunch spot.

We ate at 6.15 on a Friday. Young blonde girl serving was friendly and helpful, gentleman was a bit abrupt for my liking. Waited 40 mins for our starter (garlic bread and Tricolore) so ran out of time for a pud, theatre called! Food was lovely and hot, just a shame about the wait! Would go again, if not in a hurry next time.

I have eaten at this place once and found the food to be lovely. I ate a pizza and it was superb the portion sizes are very generous and the food is served fresh and hot. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a good meal out at a good price. Angela Kent
