Great food with great service. The chicken moducash and peshwari nan were mind blowing, smashing flavour. Definately the best i had in a long time.. :)

I was craving for something spicy for a long time. My husband suggested Nazrul Brick Lane. Their food was simply amazing. The ambience was great with soothing dim lighting and the seating was comfortable and cozy. The food was no less and everything we tasted, from the appetisers to the deserts was absolutely delicious. I am definitely coming to this place again.

Went to Nazrul on Tuesday with my partner as we live in the area so thought we would give it a try. On arriving the restaurant was pretty much empty, with 3/4 tables, so I was a little concerned but the friendly staff made us feel very welcome and people soon started arriving. The decor is very traditional. The food was amazing! I have eaten in all the local Indian restaurants and the food at Nazrul is so much fresher and much more flavoursome and beautifully presented. Highly recommended.

Great no frills curry house. Vibrant atmosphere and super great food. Been a few times and always happy faces. Highly recommended!

This restaurant is one of the safer options on Brick Lane. Food is good so is the service and atmosphere. Brick Lane is known for its grimmy kitchens but this place has been rated 5 Stars by FSA.

Excellent restaurant in East London and the best curry house on the Lane! The food was impeccable (the best pehwari nan I've had by far ;) ) with great customer service, the atmosphere was buzzing as well and the restaurant looks superb with great detailed traditional paintings. Perry

Interesting lime pickle style curry. Very different from what I've had before but very tasty. Reasonable price too :)

By Kane G.

Fantastic Restaurant. Great value. We'll definitely be going back. If you like curry and you like fine dining with a buzzing atmosphere you'll love this place. Its BYOB too!

By Ella H.

Great food. Lovely ambience and amazing service. When they served the salad in the beginning, i realised this is one place which takes serving good food as its priority. The starters, main course were all medium sized portions and not too small or huge. They are just the right amount which had a rich flavour than being cooked in cheap spices. In case you are a fan of Indian curry this is a MUST TRY place.

having read the reviews I was hoping it would be as good as described. the pressure was on as i had told a group of friends we should go there before a burlesque evening. result - very happy. it was great with easy going staff, extremely tasty food, service was fast and very reasonable. byob. great place, recommended. lamb chops starter was exceptional. our friend shaker maker said "it was the best indian he had ever had". recommended - it was busy also ;0) but didn't need to wait.

This modern and trendy take of a curry house offers a warm, funky, and vibrant atmosphere, friendly staff, and delicious food. Along with a full menu and extensive specials board for eat in or even takeaway. Will be back...

We’ve been coming here for years and still love it every time. I especially love that, unlike all the other restaurants on the street this lot don’t find it necessary to stand outside and harass would-be customers.

Last night I had the tastiest Indian meal I've had for a long while. Indian food how it should be, without trying to please the UK tongue with rich sauces. Flavours and spices to die for !! Very friendly staff and absolutely no rush, even on a busy Saturday. Highly recommended

By Firm D.

If you are in a party mood then head for Nazrul. The atmospher of the restaurant is different to the traditional curry houses. The curry is good too! We went to Nazrul following recommendations and it surely met all standards. There is possibly one thing that lets the restaurant down and that is its location, it deserves to be in a better place.

By Hike H.

Front of house staff are very busy but efficient; the food is so full of flavours; although having so much choice surely makes life hard for the chefs!! Great Indian restaurant in the busy lane of Brick Lane

By Ted L.

The oldest and the best! Great venue great food and great service, cannot ask for more. Fantastic recommendations by the staff. Will return soon.

This place definitely knows what its cooking and knows how to really keep its customers happy. One of the best.

In a word: awesome. No more any other curry house for me. I went with two friends on Thursday evening; shortly before 8pm, no reservation, seated immediately. The laminate menu is not explained, but the waiter was very helpful and answered all questions with a smile, and really looked after us in a very friendly way without being insincere or over the top. The food itself was great; fresh and hot, aromatic, better than run of the mill and definitely varied and authentic. Have already made plans to go back. Highly recommended.

We were looking for some authentic Indian Curry in the heart of London. Heard many mixed reviews about this place so was a little confused at first but still thought we would give it a try. The food was absolutely awesome. It was a afterall a good find. We went for the recommended dishes. They were all fab. They have 2 adjoined restaurants. Both were seemingly full on a wednesday evening!! Most other restaurants locally were empty. The restaurant itself dont sell alcohol. It is a BYO establishement. But they were kind enough to order our beer form the local off-license and it arrived to the table without us having to nudge a little. Awesome service. Will definetly return soon and definetly recommend.

We usually go to Tayyabs for an Indian but this time we thought we will try something different. Brick Lane, littered with touts we had no option but to use our instinct to find the best. Nazrul, the oldest of the bunch was our ultimate choice. It was a Wednesday evening and the restaurant was fairly busy. Most of the other restaurants were empty so this was a plus sign in Brick Lane. The menu is very extensive with a huge section for vegetarians. Having spent a good deal of time browsing the menu I left my order with the waiter and so did most of the group. The food arrived pretty quick. The food was awesome. Unlike Tayyabs the selection we were provided with varied in colour, texture and flavour. Amongst the best was the Haryali Chicken Masala, minty flavoured dish with spinach; Chicken Moducash, made with honey and cashews; and my personal favourite Tandoori King prawn Chana special. We loved it so much we even took some away to consume at home. Prices were very reasonable and the waiters even applied a discount to the bill. We will definitely be back. p.s. just saw on their website if booked in advance they give 20% off the bill, awesome

Delicious food of consistently high quality using local produce. friendly and efficient service, relaxed atmosphere in a stylish traditional setting. My favourite curry house on the Lane.

Simply fantastic!!! We visited Nazrul in Brick Lane last night for the first time, and im sure it wont be the last! The service was excellent and once seated downstairs were even offered another table that they had cleared upstairs. We reserved a table for 10pm and the restaurant was packed and had a happy, lively atmosphere. All waiters were extremely attentive. They even took us to the off licence to get alcohol so we could receive discount. The food was authentic and came hot. Definitely a music if visiting.

The best place to get a Karahi in Brick Lane, plus the Mixed Grill starter is an absolute revelation. Other restaurants try to replicate it, but they never quite get there. Always too busy, always queues, but still completely worth it.

By Bob H.

We visited Nazrul today because it was the only restaurant on the Brick Lane street not touting for custom. Most restaurants were either empty or atleast half empty at best but this venue was almost full. A busy restaurant without a tout seemed to us as an indication of good food and so we decided to try it out. Upon entering the restaurant the whole atmosphere seemed amazing. it was obvious people were enjoying themselves as everyone had a bright look on their face. After being seated we were handed with the menu and a few minutes later we ordered our food. I ordered the Tandoori Butter Chicken and my Wife ordered Haryali Chicken Masala, both were house special dishes. When the food arrived the aroma of the curry hit us right away and we started eating without delay. The dishes were amazing, even more amazing was the Peshwari Nan, it was the best nan I have ever tasted! both the Butter Chicken and Haryali Masala with Peshwari Nan were perfectly cooked and amazingly tasty. We left the place happy and relieved that we made the right decision in choosing this curry house. Highly recommend this to everyone.

Having booked at Aladins we were transferred here to its sister restaurant and equally it failed to disappoint. We were told both kitchens are headed by the same chef but we beg to differ. This venue is better than the original.

Simply brilliant! I was in a group of seven men and we were treated courteously by very attentive staff. The food was fantastic and the atmosphere great. We ate late afternoon and everything tasted fantastically fresh. We went on a strong recommendation and will be going back, Thanks guys for a fantastic meal

How fake can you possibly make a review...bit like the one above and the one below. The Nazrul has changed from one of the best in London into an overcharging, poor service and average food establishment. There are far better along Brick Lane.

By Giddy D.

Simply fantastic. Unpretentious atmosphere with good chilled music. Friendly, happy and polite staff, but most importantly, delicious, good selection of food and its a BYOB - all in all a perfect evening - thank you...

By Denis G.

Let me make this very short and simple; from service to food-from staff to atmosphere, is just what we wanted for a Friday night out with a group of friends. Fantastic place, will definitely return.

By Mount E.

Fabulous curry and exceptional service too! The tandoori butter chicken accompanied with peshwari nan was the best I've had by far. The restaurant is full of colourful atmosphere and very lively. The waiters are a bit on the cheeky side but keep you happy. Worth a visit at the least if you plan to have curry in Brick Lane.

Avoid. This used to be our regular restaurant in Brick Lane.....until recently. Service was always fantastic, food was excellent and prices were good. Last visit....food was bland, service was appalling (plates were cold, started cleaning our table with bleach whilst we were finishing our drinks and waiters very on the brink of rude) and then tried to overcharge us. As below, non-itemised bill with just a total at the bottom that seemed way over what it should be ...it was! Seems the old guy has sold it to someone esle and boy does it show. Avoid.
