Me and a couple of friends of mine, have been a regular customers of this pub for a good few years and, quite frankly, have always found the staff rather pushy, snobbish and just not very polite. Last night however, I was absolutely disgusted and furious about the standard of customer service received.
As in a number of previous occasions, I asked for a coffee and the bar attendant told me that he would serve me the coffee ‘in a minute’, after serving the other customers, who had arrived there after me. This was said without any justification or an apology.
I said that I found his refusal to serve me very rude and that I felt like making a serious complaint. He shrugged and said that in the time it would take him to prepare a coffee, he could serve a good few beers. I said that if I hadn’t been there with friends, I would have walked away. The member of staff shrugged again and told me that he was not going to serve me that coffee. In the meantime another staff member, a young lady, arrived and he reluctantly asked her if she could make a coffee. In reply, the girl just huffed and walked off. It goes without saying that I found her attitude even more offensive.
After a long day at work, I was really looking forward to the evening at the Prince Alfred but the attitude and rudeness of staff really spoilt it.
Congratulations to staff at the Prince Alfred: they made the business lose three regular customers and earn as much negative publicity as I can possibly make!
