A really great spot for drinks on the Thames

A really great spot for drinks on the Thames, the views are amazing! I didn't try the food but will definitely be coming for lunch next time I'm on the embankment.

Amazing views!

If you want something a bit different, and some amazing views the go to R.S Hispaniola! Can't wait to go back!

Is it a boat? Is it a bar? BOTH!

Amazing venue! So quirky and different to go and have a drink on the Thames instead of a regular bar or restaurant. The views are outstanding. Looking out on to the water, with the London eye just in front, brilliant! This would be such a good place to watch the fireworks on New Years Eve!

Took my boyfriend here for his birthday a few nights ago. Had a cocktail out on the front deck before the meal which we ate inside next to the window overlooking the London Eye. It was a lovely calm atmosphere with Jason Mraz playing in the background. The food was great, I had blueberry salmon starter and the pork fillet main, which were both delicious and great portion sizes. My boyfriend had clams for starter and the beef for main which were both also very good. We ordered a side of spinach with our meals but we were so full we couldnt finish! Service was very good but we were served by a variety of waiting staff rather than a single dedicated one, but this did not detract from the attentiveness of the staff. The food was a bit pricey, but I felt that it was well spent.

R. S. Hispaniola - Dirty food & dodgy scam (tourist trap)i found a little black line that looks like an eyelash / insect leg on the calamaries at R. S. Hispaniola today at lunch time. I reported it to the barman, he called a chef - they both saw it and the chef excused that it's a piece of cotton from his blue apron. He asked the barman to give me a discount, but the food had already been fully paid for in 'bar-style'. Second later, the chef left and the barman acted like nothing had happened. I demanded a refund for at least that dirty plate of food. The barman asked me to wait and took the "evidence" downstair. After at least 2-3 mins, another chef, a waiter and the barman came back with my plate of food - apparently, they had used all those time to remove that eyelash/insect leg like object and shamelessly asked me what's wrong with the food as they couldn't see anything! I was speechless - how dishonest and disgraceful! Being a tiny girl on my own literally cornered by three big guys who are clearly dodgy; and there is hardly any other customer on the upper deck of R. S. Hispaniola at Victoria Embankment - I prioritised my safety and just left the restaurant. Since I was misled by a 7.5 rating on a london restaurant review website, I felt obligated to tell the world about this 'tourist trap' - R. S. Hispaniola that serves dirty food and plays dodgy trick. What a shame on them - a gorgeous spot of a restaurant ship on the Thames in London is spoiled by a bunch of dodgy people that serves dirty food and unbelievably horrible customer service.

Went to the Hisaniola with a group of friends a couple of weeks ago. The food was amazing. Portion sizes where really good and great value for money. The wine list was good and the puddings were delicious! The staff where so friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed. Having the piano player was so lovely too. A lovely evening - with good friends and watching the world go by on the Thames. Definitely recommend. Even great to go for a few drinks in the evening too! A hidden gem

We went here last night, the food was extremely good but the whole evening was let down by the poor customer service. The waitress could speak very little English other than your welcome. When we asked for a beaujolais as with the meals we had to point to the menu. When the bill eventually arrived it had a £60 over charge. I sent it back and 20 minutes later had to go to the bar and question the amount. We were celebrating our anniversary. The manager offered us a complimentary glass of bubbly but it never arrived. I saw several people arrive and leave without ordering. No apology for the bill, we paid and were then late for our show. Food was good but we would not go back, most disappointing thing from a great weekend. Hope they get their act together for big relaunch in March, it was much better last time.

My boyfriend and I came here for my birthday meal on the 1st Auguts and were very impressed with... everything! The food was delicious and nicely presented. The atmosphere was lovely and the staff very friendly and helpful. The piano man impressed us also with his versions of up-to-date chart music! All in all... a very pleasant experience... not the cheapest place but worth every penny!

On Tuesday last, July 10th, I brought my husband and four friends for dinner at the Hispaniola. I hadn't spoken to anyone that had already visited the Hispaniola, had no pre-conceived ideas, just wanted to do something different. The evening exceeded all expectations, lovely atmosphere, it was perfect and I thank you all very much.

My boyfriend and myself had an amazing time aboard the RS Hispaniola last week. The food was delicious, the views impressive and the location is perfect. I highly recommend RS Hispaniola if you are looking for a romantic dinner on the river.

With the River Thames being so central to London’s sightseeing culture it’s no surprise that venues are making the most of it as bars and restaurants on boats spring up all over London. RS Hispaniola is one of the best examples of this popular trend.

The Venue
Moored on the River Thames, overlooking the London Eye, you will find the Hispaniola Bar. Open all day, this fully air conditioned boat has lots to offer with two restaurants, a cocktail bar and function rooms available to hire. A big plasma screen is situated on the upper deck, which has a more casual, bistro feel and serves tapas all day.

The Atmosphere
Unlike its local counterparts, there is a more sophisiticated air at Hispaniola Bar; linen tablecloths and waiters dashing around gives a formal appearance. This is a popular venue for tourists who wish to drink in the panoramic views of our great capital, whilst relaxing on the gently bobbing river.

The Food
There are two menus available to choose from: tapas is available starting at £4.75, with a dish of Langoustines setting you back £10.50. Desserts range from £4.50. If you want a smaller portion, you could try the Light Bites menu with prices starting at £6.80 for a good old spag bol. The a la carte menu has lots of seafood on offer but as with all the menus there is also a choice for vegetarians. Starters and desserts are from £4.95, mains from £14.50.

The Drink
Boasting the finest wine cellar on the River Thames, you will not be disappointed by the choice. House wines range from £13.95 for a bottle of Codornio, rising to £35.50 for a bottle of Red Chateuneuf du Pape. Rose Cabernet Sauvignon is a very reasonable £13.95 a bottle. Champagne is £7.50 a glass or you could push the boat out (pardon the pun!) and buy a bottle of Dom Perignon for a mere £140 – and what better place to celebrate?

Spirits range from £2.95 for a single measure and there is an eclectic choice of cocktails for £5.95. A decent choice of bottled lager stocks the bar, including Bud, San Miguel and Stella with beer and cider also available. However, all food and drink prices are currently under review so the prices may increase in the future.

The Last Word
For a sophisticated dining experience aboard a beautiful boat look no further than the Hispaniola Bar. With two lovely restaurants, a well stocked bar and stunning views this is definitely top of the list.
