Vue Cinema Islington reviews

Went to see Lion King 3D with some friends. The room was full and I fell asleep for the first time in life in the cinema. What I mean to say is that even in a fairly central cinema, in a traditionally kids movie, it is peaceful and you will enjoy your cinema going experience.

Complete rip off. Just paid almost £60 for three kids and one adult and some popcorn. It's obscene really. The hackney empire down the road ( much nicer cinema inside, nice food /drink and articulate helpful staff, charges £20 for family ticket including popcorn and drink for kids). The staff at the Vue who serve you are exceptionally slow and uninterested. It was not surprising to find the theatre we was 20 percent full. This cinema chain deserves to do really badly. Conversely those chains like hackney empire that put an effort into providing a quality experience at an affordable price (and don't try to rip customers off) deserve to thrive. There are so many better cinemas out there!

I went there on 30/09/12 and I became aware that it was not what it was when I first began coming here. Previous cinema Wood Green, that says it all. However, back to this Sunday .I hate grumbling but: The roof was leaking; the staff were unfriendly; and when you got to the front of the snack queue . They didn't have anything savoury. Is it too much like common sense to expect them to replenish hot dogs and nachos as they serve them? If staff members arranged themselves to have someone to replenish items then maybe other customers wouldn't have to suffer deranged people screeching to other people who are with them who are milling around because the queue dose not move fast enough. The previous week I was at the cinema,I moved queues twice times. Once because the ceiling began leaking where I was standing and the second when I was standing behind a bunch of miserable teenagers and in front of an impatient person with a child in tow.

02/06/2012 I booked my tickets (full price) on line to watch the moonrise kingdom tonight. We went there early only discover that a metal bar was in front on our seats. As we could see only 2/3 of the screen, I asked the person in charge at the ticket desk to change our seats. The screen number 4 was full booked, which is fair enough on a Saturday night, but what shocked me is the rudeness of the young boy at the desk. He pretended he didn't know about the "unlucky" seats (yeah sure!) and treated us like crap - like it was our fault. I've got a refund, and I'll never ever go back to the Vue cinema in Islington. the customer service is awful and they shouldn't cheat their customers. if there is a metal bar in front of the seats, they must make it clear on their website and, at least, give a massive discount. paying 25£ to see 2/3 of a screen if a joke.

worst cinema ever.. have been going for a few years but it has hit a new low... rudest staff, one of them kissed her teeth at me when i asked for a napkin when i ordered an over priced ice-cream, another time when getting no response, eye contact or reply from a staff member, i repeated the question and was rudely told that she heard me the first time... and to top this charming trip off there was no toilet paper in any of the girls toilets.. terrible!

This cinema is just like any other one. It offers student prices which are a lot cheaper than prices you would pay in the central London/Leicester square area so it is a good place to visit. Rarely gets packed out but still gets a lot of customers. Its better to buy tickets upstairs as you can buy any movie snacks at the same time.

A reasonable Local Cinema, with lots of customers. The screens are medium and small in size. Importantly, the air conditioning is often on - so bring some warm clothing with you if you are sensitive to the cold!

Nice enough cinema although the toilets always stink and could do with a good clean. Always buy your ticket from the counter (either downstairs when open, or upstairs) as it cost more to use the automated machines. Staff are usualy very helpful although they do try to encourage you to buy food, but I suppose that is their job.

On the whole the cinema is very well kept although one or two of the screens do have marks on which can be irritating when watching a film.

Nice and clean cinema. Good sound system and decent screens that vary depending on film, from larger to more intimate screen sizes.
Facilities are clean, staff have always been helpful. Loads of restaurants nearby, great location in Angel N1 Shopping centre.
