Vue Cinema North Finchley reviews

By Ian L.

As other reviewers have commented, they can show films o.k., but their customer service is beyond poor. The staff are all rude, seem to have no idea that they are actually their to provide a service, clearly see the customers (who are paying their wages) as an inconvenience and go out of their way to be as unhelpful as possible. When my wife, having been called forward from the (long queue) was then ignored, because of a temporary power blip in their system, and asked why they were not talking to her, was told that they had not called her forward (they had), she said 'an apology would be nice' and was again completely ignored. The counter top was filthy and staff were making no attempt to clean it, despite not being occupied. I could go on but I won't, avoid this place unless it really is the only cinema showing the film you want to see...

Heating was broken on one visit and air con was broken on another, very uncomfortable viewing! Not helpful here much prefer Barnet Odeon!

Horrible place. Left my son's coat behind, when I went to ask about it, manager was just nasty and hostile, and basically said tough luck, and accused me of blaming his staff, which I certainly did not. You might be reading this review and thinking I did something wrong - I didn't, and was polite through this bully's defensive onslaught, and even asked him if I'd done something wrong! Coat was not found. I just wanted someone to take another look, just in case, but he refused. I'm still pretty sure it's there somewhere, only other explanation is another customer took it, which I think is unlikely, and still means the seats weren't cleared properly after the film ended. Never going back, atmosphere's always been unfriendly anyway.

Took the kids on Sunday 12/6 to see Kung Fu Panda 2 - they had been looking forward to it so I booked tickets with allocated seats online and set off early. Got to the cinema and the place was an absolute nightmare - had to queue for half an hour to collect the tickets even though I had booked online! Massive queues at ticket machines and all tills, staff didn't seem bothered about the chaos. So we ended up missing the start of the film and the "allocated" seats were full of people who has unallocated tickets. Cinema full so after failing to get people in our seats to move and complaining to staff who basically just shrugged their shoulders, we watched the rest of the film from the worst seats in the place. I was livid but fortunately the kids were only interested in the film and loved it. Well, Vue North Finchley you have just lost a entire family of regular film+popcorn customers to the Odeon Hatfield. In Summary: Badly managed, useless staff and hopeless ticketing system - avoid!

No Stars. I went to see Vicky Cristina Barcelona on Tuesday 24 Feb, it was advertised on the internet as starting at 15.30.

Got to the cinema in time, travelled about 5 miles to get there, after taking the afternoon off work. Was really looking forward to this film, and was therefore very annoyed to find that this film was not actually playing until 9.15 that evening.

There were no staff downstairs so I went to get my ticket upstairs. The girl on the ice cream stand (not her fault admittedly) buzzed through to a manager who asked if I had the right cinema, yes I had, I am an adult and not stupid.

It was their fault for advertising incorrectly. The girl said there had been several complaints that day about the same film.

I therefore saw the only other film that didn't sound dreadful, 'confessions of a shopaholic' which was on at the time I was there, dreadful film, don't bother seeing it.

So I feel I wasted the afternoon and £6.80 to see it. I am not happy at all and will never use this cinema again.

Too expensive especially for OAP'S

First I am shocked how the prices rose from last year. OAP was £5.95. Now £8.99. Ridiculous. Went into Screen 9 this afternoon(13th April) where there was a girl cleaning up. but when she left and we took our seats there was popcorn over the seats and on the floor with empty boxes under the seats. Two women took different seats than were allocated as popcorn all over the place. Very disappointed at the price and cleanliness. Why not cheaper seats for afternoon shows for the OAP's? Seats uncomfortable too.

Bad service all round from the staff

There was an incident at the Finchley Vue cinema last night 21st Oct, everyone was told to leave. No one was told for how long or what was the cause of the incident. There were not enough staff to look after the customers and that the one who on his own tried to persuade the customers to exit the building had to use abusive language to try and get his point made. The tannoy announcement was also badly recorded.
We all waited in the foyer and outside the building not knowing if we were allowed to go back in and to see the film. After 30 minutes I decided with the group that I was with that it was a waste of time waiting without knowing so we went home.

The cinema needs seriously to have an agenda for safety - there was definitely no agenda last night, this could be a legal issue
