Cottage Balti reviews

This is an excellent restaurant. We have been regular customers for several years now. The service and food are of a consistently high standard and the restaurant has been recently beautifully refurbished with a function room upstairs. The restaurant is downstairs. No hesitation in recommending this at all.

This is an outstanding restaurant. It really does represent value for money in comparison with other similar restaurants in the area. The food is always excellent, the waiters are friendly and helpful and very happy to advise on choice of food. The new grey, black and white decor is a wonderful. The walls have been hand painted with stunning images. We have been going to this restaurant for a good few years now and have never been disappointed. You need to book on a Friday and Saturday as it can get busy especially after 8pm. Upstairs there is a large and newly refurbished room suitable for large groups of diners. Parking is available on street - free after 6pm..

I love the Cottage Balti! It's is my local Balti house - but even if it wasn't I would rather travel to it that go somewhere else (how lucky am I?). It's consistently good, fresh tasting food (where the curries taste different to each other - not all the basic same sauce with few added extras); has a varied menu with lots of different flavours (Jeera, dopiaza, rogan josh, jalfrezi, Masali, Karahi, Zarl, Bhindi, Methi, Madras, Malayan, Sri Lankan, Patia, Vindaloo, Kashmiri, Dansak amongst others I can't remember off the top of my head...) to choose from and the staff are friendly and efficient - without being obtrusive. I really rate the Lamb (or chicken) Rogan Josh and the Saag Paneer. My boyfriend really likes the Prawn puri starter, Lamb Jeera and house specials Shamba Chicken. Also, the Cheese & Chilli Naan is excellent (though can blow your head off if you chomp on a hot bit). They serve Kingfisher and Cobra indian lager on tap. I don't 'do' kids, I've seen them be lovely and friendly/accommodating with customers' kids. The decor is light and clean - but basic. They do take-away and deliver in the near area. It can get busy on Friday and Saturday nights - so I would book, but you won't need to during the week. There's plenty of street parking nearby - though I would avoid parking on High Road itself as it gets busy and spaces is tight. It's on a excellently serviced bus route from Derby/Chilwell direction to Nottingham anyway, so no excuse to not leave the car at home. I would (and am!) heartily recommend them as we've been going for years. We have tried other places in Beeston, but always come back to Cottage Balti.

This is a very good restaurant. The range and quality of dishes is excellent and the service is friendly and efficient.

The food is reasonably priced and much better than that in many higher priced restaurants in Nottingham. Strongly recommended
