O2 Academy Oxford reviews

This is the worst venue I have been too! The main room has a really low ceiling with a high stage so if you would like to watch the legs and feet of the performer you have paid good money to see then this is the venue for you. As the ceiling is so low if you stand in the middle or at the back of the venue you can not see the band/act or hear them! The drinks are also extortionately priced.

Dirty dank and overpriced. Music not bad. Security the worst I have ever experienced, I saw them physically attack a deaf woman who didn't hear an instruction shouted at her back, a couple of people who asked them not to were dragged out and thrown to the floor, they refused to give their ID numbers and were generally rude and aggressive. Nights out should be fun, decent bouncers are an important part of this. Venues employing thugs who act outside the law and outside decency are best avoided.

The main arena upstairs is a little tired , but the bands keep coming some great nights had by rockin to live music, my only real gripe is a pint of lager 3.90 bloody rip off , get real its the carling Acc some prom's on band nights would be a big plus the friends I go with like a beer so we are slowing down on the rounds and catching up with the beer at the Library bar next door or the bully

Can be fun when busy and offers a wide range of music, both on club nights and events, but let down drastically by over-priced drinks and horrendous 'security' staff. On several occasions I have been treated far from courteously by the staff who seem a little carried away with their small measure of power - an experience I have never had anywhere else. Shame really. What money was left over from skimping on proper door staff was certainly not spent on the decor - there has been little to nothing done with the inside and you are basically paying to enter a dank garage with sticky floors and a cacophony of bad smells/attitudes. Go if you're desperate or there's a good band on but look elsewhere for a good vibe.
