The bar staff consisted of the landlord. Acceptable given it was a Sunday afternoon, not acceptable given that he looked inconvienienced by our drinks request. Once disturbed from his film he was evidently irritated about having to vacate his seat behind the bar. Usually casual day afternoon session we would stay 4 hours and spend £25 each. On this trip we spent £11. During our visit we utilised the juke box. Well we tried. Unfortunately the landlord and his daughter/sister/wife were watching a film so we had to stand outside the toilets to hear our selection. We did ask for the music to be turned up and was met with a look that could have curdled milk and a 'tut'. The pub itself is an average local pub. Average selection of drinks. Pool tables, darts, juke box. The landlord seems to have trouble delivering a basic level of customer service and you almost feel indebted to him when he serves you. No cheesy moments.

Superb, friendly, welcoming pub with excellent bar staff and beers. Friday and Saturday nights are usually busy and fun with a band or DJ...and the pub is very inexpensive for private parties (have had a party there myself and can highly recommend it...great DJ...buffet cost very little compared to other pubs and was excellent). Thursday night is acoustic jam night....not a musician myself but there is some great talent there and I enjoy just going along to listen and meet new people :)
